What's in our... Shower!

Hey Gals! You may have heard us mention before, but we love us a good list here at TSN! We decided to launch a series called “What’s in our …” where we focus on a particular area of interest and provide you with a detailed list from each of us. After taking a look at our overflowing showers, we thought it would be perfect to kickoff this series by sharing our Top 10 must have shower products.

M's jam packed shower
B's even more jam packed shower!

So without further ado, we present, What’s in our SHOWER!

B's Top 10 Shower Products:

1) The Clarisonic Mia is an excellent investment in the future of your skin. I use the Sensitive brush heads for a deep facial cleanse, but there are other brushes available that can be used on the rest of your body.

2) The Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash has a pleasant (but not overpowering scent), and is gentle enough for daily usage. It can pair with the Clarisonic Mia or be used on its own; it definitely lives up to its name and gets very foamy!

3) My shower is cluttered with tons of shower gels that coordinate with matching perfumes and body lotions, but for an everyday wash, I like to use Aveeno Stress Relief Body Wash. It's a very creamy wash with a lavender scent, and anything that claims to reduce stress is fine with me!

4) I was first introduced to Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish when M gave it to me as part of a Christmas gift a few years ago; now I'm hooked! This scrub has an amazing grainy texture and the moisturizing oils leave your skin feeling silky smooth.

5) My feet take a beating from walking all over the city, so I like to treat them to a mini shower pedicure with Victoria's Secret Warming Foot Scrub. Don't underestimate the "warming" part of the title - as soon as you spread the scrub, it really starts to heat up quickly! I like to pair this with a pumice stone for maximum softness.

6) Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Moisturizing Shampoo leaves my thick hair very soft and shiny. It has a light vanilla scent that is appropriate for all seasons.

7) My absolute favorite beauty bargain is White Rain Tropical Coconut Conditioner. The refreshing coconut scent always makes me feel like I'm on a tropical beach vacation. Best of all, you can find a large bottle for only $1 at the Dollar Tree!

8) To protect my color-treated hair, I use Avon Advance Techniques Color Protection Heat Infusion Treatment as a rinse-out conditioner after regular shampooing. It keeps my hair smooth and safe from color damage.

9) The final step of my shower is a spritz of Method Daily Shower Spray. This natural cleaner keeps the shower looking and smelling fresh day after day!

10) This is an item that I typically keep hidden in the shower, but of course I will share it with our TSN readers - the Bliss Slimulator. This nubby little hand-held brush is designed to stimulate circulation to reduce and prevent cellulite. I'm not sure how successful its been with that, but it feels like a very nice massage!

M's Top 10 Shower Products:

1) Pregnancy has not been a friend to my skin, and on a quest to find the best facial cleanser, I stumbled across Beaute de Maman face wash after reading many positive reviews. Specifically formulated for pregnant women, it gently cleanses and exfoliates without any chemicals or artificial ingredients so you don’t have to worry about exposing your baby to anything unsafe!

2) Clearly Simple Sugars Strawberry Body Scrub has to be in my top 10 list – if you missed my detailed review of it, check it out here.

3) As a result of years of dying and processing, I have pretty dry hair. Couple that with a very fine texture, and it can be pretty tough to find a shampoo and conditioner that does me any favors. Dove Oil Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner has been the exception, since it’s super moisturizing without causing any additional flatness or lack of body.

4) Philosophy makes some of the best scented body washes out there and I’m a huge fan. Currently when I want to switch things up, I use one of the scents from their Home for the Holidays set (who cares if it’s almost Summer – cinnamon buns smell good all year round in my opinion!) An added bonus is that there always seems to be a sale on these body washes, so make sure you never pay full price! I was able to pick up from Sephora at a steal of a price back in January when they had their post-holiday sale! (Turns out Nordstrom is also currently offering a deal – buy 2, get 1 free!)

5) A Body Pouf may seem like a boring old basic, but don’t underestimate the power of the pouf! It’s a life saver for ensuring you cover every square inch of yourself with body wash, without feeling like you are using half a bottle in the process. Whenever I go on vacation, this may be the one shower item I miss the most!

6) I’ve sung my praises for Fresh previously, but I’m especially obsessed with their Brown Sugar Face Polish. This scrub helps to exfoliate my skin without being too harsh or oily - plus it smells great too!

7) I loooove this product. I discovered L’Occitane Cleansing And Softening Shower Oil
it after a L’Occitane opened up a block away from my old NYC apartment and have been hooked ever since. It applies like an oil, but then gently lathers during the application, and leaves your skin super soft. Great to use post shaving, and it smells sooo good!

8) Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Renewing Treatment is also a huge help with my dry hair. I try to use at least once a week and afterwards it leaves my hair soft and silky.

9) I’m pretty much a body wash junky, and love to try all different brands and scents (see # 4!) but at the end of the day, my go-to will always be Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash. It has an amazingly clean smell that lingers, and is perfectly moisturizing. Plus you can’t beat it’s drug store price!

10) I’ve has the Clarisonic Mia 2 for over two years now, and nothing beats that clean feeling my face has after I use it. As I mentioned previously, it’s been great for my erratic pregnant skin too, since it provides a deeper clean just a regular washing.

And that's just a small glimpse into our showers!  What are some of your must have shower products?

xoxo,
The Gals
