Pomegranate Cranberry Martini

When I visit my parents and we go out to dinner, we like to hold a family happy hour in the kitchen before heading out to the restaurant. It's one of my favorite family traditions because sharing stories and laughs over a couple of cocktails is a fun way to kick off an evening of quality family time. While our family bar is always fully stocked and my dad is a great mixologist, I keep on coming back to one drink in particular.

This Pomegranate Cranberry Martini (also known simply as "The Pink Drink" in my house) is a great pre-dinner choice because it's a low calorie beverage, so it won't fill you up too much before the main meal. Cranberry and pomegranate are great fruity flavors of fall which makes this an excellent November drink, but this cocktail can definitely be enjoyed year-round.

Here's what you'll need for an 8 oz. cocktail: 

* 4 oz. cranberry-pomegranate juice (I use Ocean Spray's Diet Cran-Pomegranate Juice)
* 1 oz. POM juice
* 1 oz. triple sec
* 2 oz. vodka
* Dash of lime juice
