DIY Holiday Mug Gift

Christmas is right around the corner, but I can't stop making some more holiday crafts! Just like M's free printables were inspired by Christmas carols, I decided to create some personalized mugs based on a classic holiday tune.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...
I'm not artistic when it comes to drawing but I have decent handwriting, so I decided to focus on the text by adding song lyrics on one side of the mug and the recipient's first initial on the other side.

The only supplies that you'll need are porcelain mugs (you can find cheap ones at Dollar Tree) and Sharpie Paint Pens - make sure you buy the oil-based paint pens, and not the regular Sharpie markers!

Draw your design directly on the mug, then place it in the oven (make sure you put the mug in before turning on the oven to prevent cracking). Turn the oven up to 350 degrees for 30 minutes, then turn it off and allow it to cool completely before removing the mug. Congratulations, your mug is now dishwasher safe!

Personalized mugs are a simple yet creative way to show someone you care - for extra sweetness, fill the mug with candy, wrap it in Christmas cellophane, and tie it off with a sparkly bow.

Which DIY projects will you be gifting this Christmas?

  1. I love this idea! Personalized gifts are the best, and this one is super cute and thoughtful, but not super expensive!

    1. Thanks! Plus it's very easy to make!

Thanks for visiting The Sequin Notebook! We LOVE hearing from you :)
