Pretty Polishes: Holiday Red and Gold Sparkle Mani

Hey Gals!  Now that we've officially kicked off the holiday season here at TSN, it's time to make sure even your nails look the part!

Today's holiday mani features a beautiful and bold red base, but of course we couldn't stop there.  To kick things up a notch, I also added fun and festive glitzy gold half moons to the bottom of each nail.  And the application was actually quite easy, since the glitter really covers up any mistakes and does not need to be applied with a pristine hand!

For this look, I first applied 2 coats of Rescue Beauty Lounge's Chinoise, then once they were fully dry, I added the gold moons.  To really make them sparkle and shine, I use two different gold glitters. First I drew on the half moon using Mattese Elite Nail Art Paint in Gold (previously purchased at Ricky's NYC, though sadly it looks like they have now retired this brand!).  Then once the moons were fully dry, I dotted some additional glitter on the top, using Deborah Lippman's Glitter and Be Gay.  The holographic glitter really stood out and made the mani shine!  To apply, I used a dotting tool from Butter London and it made application so easy!  This was my first time using the tool but I can't wait to try lots of fun nail art with it.

Then, once dry, I applied my top coat and was ready to mix and mingle with my holiday mani!

What are your favorite holiday polish colors? Are you a fan of the red and gold combo or do you like to mix it up with some less traditional colors?
