Five on Friday {May 2, 2014}

Haaaaaappy Friday! I've been in the midst of prepping for my company's annual gala taking place on Monday, so I'm especially looking forward to some relaxation this weekend. Let's kick it off with the five things we're loving this week!

ONE | Rooftop album preview party

My friend Joey is a crazy-talented composer who is currently recording his second album. To celebrate its impending release, he threw a fabulous preview party for all of the supporters who donated to this album. This chic event took place in the studio where he is recording and had delicious apps, a flowing open bar, and amazing views of the city from a 22nd floor rooftop in the Financial District. Clearly, we couldn't resist having a mini photo shoot.

It's a good thing we didn't look down...see that tiny ledge behind us? That was the only thing separating us from a 22-foot drop to the sidewalk! Needless to say, I kept my clumsy, stiletto-heeled self firmly in the very center of that roof!

Oh, and if you're looking for some fantastic new tunes, check out this exciting new album at www.joeycontreras.com. As you can see, I wasn't kidding about the "crazy-talented" part!

TWO | Food Day / Birthday Game
We all know that there are tons of fun Buzzfeed-esque quizzes out there, but lately this one has been my favorite. You simply plug in your birthday, and it tells you which food item shares its special day of honor with you! My birthday is also National Ravioli Day, which is totally appropriate considering my Italian heritage and loyalty to my native cuisine! M's birthday is National Baked Alaska Day, which I can't say I've ever actually sampled haha. Her husband and son (Grill Guy and Baby M) actually share a birthday (fun fact!) which is National Linguini Day, so it looks like poor M is the only TSN Gal not sharing her birthday with an Italian food (sorry, Gal!). Check yours out here and let us know what you wind up with: http://games.usvsth3m.com/what-ridiculous-food-day-is-your-birthday/

THREE | The Comeback's comeback

Was anyone else completely devastated when the brilliant sitcom The Comeback was cancelled by HBO after only one season back in 2005? I was beyond thrilled to read that they are considering reviving this cult classic! I would love to see what sort of shenanigans Valerie Cherish has gotten herself into over the past 10 years - if Arrested Development can be revived, so should The Comeback! (And if you somehow managed to miss The Comeback when it originally aired, do yourself a favor and check it out immediately - you can thank me later).

FOUR | Spark Energy Drink

One of the best perks of blogging is getting to know other fun people in the blogging community. The lovely Whittney kindly sent me a sample of Spark Energy Drink mix, and I have to say that it could not have arrived at a better time! With gala season in full swing, I've been super busy at my new job and in need of an energy boost to get me through the day. Not only did this mix help me get through my afternoon slump, but the taste was refreshing and it carried me through the rest of my day with no crashing! Make sure you pay Whittney a visit at her blog and say hi, and ask her about Spark if you're looking for a tasty pick-me-up!

FIVE | Alfresco blogging

A little wine, a fully charged laptop, and peaceful city views...now that the weather is warm, it's fantastic to have a more creatively-stimulating environment for blogging instead of being stuck on my couch! Bring on the warm spring weather, and all of the inspiration that comes along with being outdoors in the fresh air!

We're excited to link up with DarciNatashaApril, ChristinaAmanda, Jennie, and Lauren!
