Party Planner: She Leaves a Little Sparkle Wherever She Goes

This past Sunday, we celebrated my fantastic friend Alyssa's bridal shower. Alyssa and I met in college thanks to our shared participation in the theater and singing groups, and I am so happy that she remains one of my best friends to this day and I'm honored to be one of her bridesmaids! You know that M and I love some glitz - well, Alyssa is the same way so it was only natural that her love of sparkles was incorporated into her shower theme...

The bridal shower took place at the lovely Olde Stone Mill in Tuckahoe, NY. Here are some pics to recap the event:

The escort card table was filled with sparkle signs and Playbill collages of photos from Alyssa's past plays (I even spied myself in a pic from one of our college musicals):

Each table featured one of the sparkle signs along with DIY centerpieces that consisted of tall glass vases wrapped in purple gems and filled with silver branches and twinkle lights. You'll also notice the purple, gold, and black scatter across the table - these were little mustaches that were intended for one of our games (we enlarged a pic of the groom and had planned to play "Pin the Mustache on Lance" but unfortunately, we ran out of time! We were just too busy chatting and having fun.)

The tables also included signs and sheets for our games - the Who Am I game was extremely popular as each guest recounted a fond memory of Alyssa, and it was her job to guess who wrote each one. M and I worked on these printables during our most recent Gals Weekend, and I'm so thankful to her for creating these personal touches for the shower! M will be posting the templates for these printables soon so that you can personalize them for your own "She Leaves a Little Sparkle Wherever She Goes" shower, so get excited!

The final table set-up:

The final table detail is the favor - each guest brought home her own mini bottle of prosecco! Every bottle was sprayed with purple or gold glitter to coordinate with the theme, and was personalized with a tag.

The back of the tag contained information about the 2nd part of the favor - a donation was made in the guests' honor to Alyssa's favorite nonprofit, the Hope for Change Foundation.

Gifts were wrapped in clear so that everyone could admire all of the items that will soon fill the bride and groom's new home.

The bridesmaids combined forces and joined together to purchase the item on top of every bride's wish list - a Dyson vacuum!

In between all of the festivities, we managed to find some time for brunch and had many delicious items to choose from.

I opted for the Quiche Lorraine, which was yummy!

Of course, it's the people that make a shower special, so here are a few snaps of the guests. First we have the beautiful bride and groom:

College friends - the Villanova girls:

Oh, remember how I said that we ran out of time to Pin the Mustache on Lance? Well, we may have managed to squeeze in an impromptu mustache photo shoot at the end of the day:

One last takeaway for all you party planners out there - instead of a traditional wishing well, Alyssa's shower featured a wine wishing well! (Note to my future bridal party: a wine wishing well is ALWAYS a good idea.) It was perfect for this couple, too (after all, Lance hosts an annual wine tasting party!). Each guest received a label in advance and was asked to decorate her bottle so not only does the couple now have a very well-stocked wine cellar, but they also have some festive artwork to admire each time they pop a new bottle:

It was a day filled with sparkles, love, and good friends. Now, let's bring on the bachelorette party!
