Maple Cider Martini

We’re always searching for tasty and inventive cocktails here at The Sequin Notebook and recently I decided to give an old favorite a fresh take.  Now that the fall season is (un)officially upon us, one of the first things I find myself craving is some delicious apple cider.  But instead of mixing up my usual classic, The Apple Cider Martini, I thought I’d see if I could shake up something new that included my tasty fall favorite.  Instead of vodka, this kicked up cocktail gets a sweet update thanks to some maple whiskey.  Even if you aren’t a whiskey gal, this one earns extra sweetness points thanks to the maple-y goodness and is the perfect autumnal pairing for the apple cider.  In addition, I top the drink off with a little hard cider to give it some fizzy effervescence – yum!  And just like our original classic, I can’t forget the cinnamon sugar rim and a little apple slice.

 Ingredients:
2 parts Crown Royal Maple
2 parts Apple Cider
1 part Hard Cider

Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and strain into a martini glass.

Shake one up and let us know which you prefer – are you a purist and prefer our classic version, or are you digging this maple-y update?!  Or maybe you’re totally over the cider and ready for us to mix up a new fall favorite (suggestions welcome!!!).

Cheers!
