Five on Friday: {January 16, 2015}

Hey Gals! Is it me, or was this just about the longest week ever?! I'm super excited for some downtime this weekend (meaning, lots of wine) so to kick things off, we're rounding up our five favorites of the week!

Favorite New Kitchen Gadget: The Nutri Ninja Blender
Isn't she gorg?!

You may have seen on Instagram that I finally took the plunge and bought the blender of my dreams, the Nutri Ninja blender! I've literally been adding this to my cart for years, but for some reason, just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger.  When my old blender recently died on me, I finally had a legit excuse to get my beloved Ninja and all I can say is, what the heck was I waiting for?!?! This thing is the stuff blender dreams are made of and to say I love it would be an understatement! I opted for the Nutri Ninja because of the individual settings, plus it came with the super convienient personal serving to-go cups. It makes cleaning a snap, since I'm able to blend and drink from the container!

Favorite Mani Inspiration: Golden Globe Dress Recreations
Images courtesy of Peach Polish
I'm sure everyone is a bit GG'd out by now, having analyzed the fashions and winners/losers to death, but have you all seen these amazing mani inspirations by Peachy Polish?! I'm in awe at the sheer nail art talent, and how spot on they are! I think my favorite is the Tina Fey glitzy recreation, but they are all pretty amazing!

Favorite Sale Find: Ann Taylor Embellished Shirttail Top
http://www.anntaylor.com/embellished-woven-shirttail-hem-top/355785
I'm loving all of the post holiday sales that are STILL going on, and my latest favorite find is courtesy of a 60% (yes 60!!) off at Ann Taylor.  I picked up this adorable top for a steal - originally $89...

$35.60 sounds a lot better, thankyouverymuch!
I mean it's cute, but not THAT cute! Does anyone still pay full price at these stores anymore?! Well not this gal, but I am in love with this top and it's long length - perfect with a cute pair of leggings or skinny jeans.  And it looks like it's marked down even more now (don't you hate when that happens?!).

Favorite New Bloggy Find: Cowboy Studio Lighting Kit
http://www.amazon.com/CowboyStudio-Photography-Portrait-Continuous-Umbrellas/dp/B003WLY24O
Mia recently blogged about a new lighting kit that she got to help with the perils of poor indoor lighting when taking blog pics. I have completely awful lighting in my house, and between the cold temperatures and not being home during daylight hours, it's been all near impossible to take any decent pictures for the blog.  I found myself going nuts over the weekend to try and snap them, so as soon as I read her glowing review and that it was available on Amazon Prime, I quickly ordered one for myself! So far I've only tried it out a handful of times, but those pretty pics in my two recent posts are as a result of the new kit! Thanks Mia for the recommendation and I definitely recommend for anyone else having lighting issues!

Favorite Must-Try Recipe: Cauliflower Crust Pizza
One of the many (million!) things I love about the blogging is all of the amazing inspiration that's out there (as if that wasn't apparent already from the last item!).  One of my new years resolutions has been to cook more and try out new recipes and I can't wait to try out this one for cauliflower pizza crust that I recently found on Detoxinsta! I could pretty much eat pizza all day, every day, so any chance for a delicious, yet more healthy version is definitely a must make in my book! I promise to give a full review once I finally try it out!

What are you all up to this weekend?!
Thanks to our gals AmandaJennieKarliClare, Rebecca, Katie, Natasha, Heather, and Tif for hosting today's link-ups!

  18. That is surprisingly a really great price for such a highly-rated lighting kit! Good to know you like it, too. That pizza looks so good. I heard the secret is to bake the crust alone first for a bit to let it get extra oven time/crisp by the end. Happy weekend!

  19. I like these picks. I'm also thinking about buying something for the kitchen but I was thinking juicer. Blender is multifunctional though, right?

    That's a cute sweater!

  25. I'm really thinking about buying the lights too! I don't have a ton of natural light and I for sure am not a fan of taking pictures out in the snow and 13 degree temps!

  27. Congrats on your new Ninja! I have one (a different model) that I got as a gift and I seriously use it every day. I make a fruit and veggie smoothie most mornings and it's super fast and easy. I feel like a commercial, but I really do love it!

  30. I can't believe that lighting set is only $60! I'm definitely adding that to my list of things to invest in. I made a DIY lightbox and while it helped at first I feel like each time I use my pictures don't come out as good as the first time. Those nails are gorgeous!
