Five on Friday {January 9, 2015}

Happy Friday, Gals! I know that most of you already talked about ringing in 2015 but since M was holding our Five on Friday reins last week, I hope you'll indulge me in my very first Five on Friday countdown of this bright new year - so far, it's been fantastic!

New Year's Eve festivities

I am usually a huge NYE hater because there is always tons of pressure for it to be the most awesome night ever and it's difficult to live up to all that hype, but this year...well, it totally exceeded my expectations!

T and B, looking sharp!
After throwing on my newest sparkly dress (which is typically the only part of NYE that I actually like!), I traveled south to the West Village to my lovely friend Kate's low-key pre-party, where I got to hang out with J and a bunch of other fabulous people (and take lots of pictures, of course).

Not so sure about this photo...

No photos, please!
After that, T and I went to meet up with some other friends at a private bar party - normally, I'm not a big fan of these overpriced parties but with so many great people (and top shelf liquors) around, I had a blast!

Excuse the blurriness...this was a little later in the night!
Plus there were party streamers - so of course, we had to get up in those streamers.

All in all, it was a very lovely way to ring in the new year and start 2015 off with lots of happiness and fun!

 Sales, sales, sales

As much as I definitely didn't NEED any new clothes, I just had to take advantage of some of the New Year sales! I went on a shopping spree at Old Navy (my old favorite that recently worked its way back to my heart a few months ago), and stocked up on some new items for my upcoming beach vacay (only one more month left to wait!). I'm loving their cheeky slogan t-shirts and had to pick up several, including the one above. Who else indulged in some retail therapy?

Ok guys, is it just me or does anyone else absolutely love filling out their new paper planner at the start of the year? I am crushing so hard on my pristine Plum Planner and have been having THE best time filling it out with multi-colored pens (I know, I know, total paper nerd alert).

New beginnings

2015 may only be a little over a week old, but I already feel like this new year has given me a fresh start in so many different ways. I've made a new list of resolutions and have started implementing some small personal and professional changes that already feel like they are paying off - now if only I can drag myself back into a regular gym routine, all will be well!

A new link-up!

There's no better way to start a new year than with a new blog project, so M and I are thrilled to announce that we're hosting a new monthly link-up starting this Tuesday! We love experimenting with different cocktail recipes, so we thought it was time to start rounding up everyone's favorite cocktails in one big link-up. Check back here on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 a.m. EST to link up your favorite drink recipes, starting this Tuesday, 1/13!

Thanks to our gals AmandaJennieKarliClare, Rebecca, Katie, Natasha, Heather, and Tif for hosting today's link-ups!

  22. New planner time is what makes the new year exciting to me! Of course, I have been known to buy several planners throughout the year, just because I love that new planner feeling! Definitely with you on the multiple colors! This year I've been using colored pencils... which makes me feel like a fun 5 year old, but it's still delightful!

Thank you SO MUCH for linking up with High Five for Friday! Hope to see you next week!

I never drink (I just don't like the taste of alcohol--I know, it should probably be criminal or something), but I'm totally passing this on to some of my blogging buddies!
