Five on Friday {April 3, 2015}

TGIF! We finally felt a little touch of spring here in NYC yesterday as the temperatures crept into the low 60s (and at this point, I'll consider any snow-free day a total win!). Before we jump into some weekend fun, here are the five things I'm loving this week!

BaubleBar goodies

After learning that I won Annie and Christina's BaubleBar giveaway, I immediately started browsing the website and have been trying to narrow down my selections ever since! While I tend to gravitate towards statement necklaces, lately I've been loving the dainty, layered look - how cute is this simple, gemmy bar necklace?

Easter

Easter is almost here, and I'm looking to spending the day at home with my parents, brother, and boyfriend. Of course, no holiday is complete without a signature cocktail so if you haven't tried our Flaming Peeptini yet...well, what are you waiting for?

"Girls" sleepover

This week started off on a high note with a good old-fashioned "girls" sleepover (with "girls" in quotes because we are all in our 30s!). My friend Alyssa invited a bunch of us over for some board games, sherbet-filled cocktails, girl talk, and prank calls (though sadly, we soon realized that prank calls are a bit outdated since apparently, no one will pick up an unknown number anymore!). We also indulged in the crazy-good cookies pictured above, baked from a homemade mix of Oreos and classic chocolate chip...YUM!

Back to the 80s

Regular TSN readers probably already know that I work in the performing arts and this past weekend, I had the pleasure of seeing the closing performance of a high school musical I recently choreographed! They produced The Wedding Singer (yes, based on the Adam Sandler movie) and it was such a fun 80s throwback...I was dancing in my seat, and so happy for the cast to see their hard work pay off!

Bloodline

Ok, please tell me that T and I are not the only people watching this show! As if the Kyle Chandler/Coach Taylor factor wasn't enough (Texas Forever...shout out to all my fellow Friday Night Lights fans!), I always love a good murder mystery so this show was basically made for me. I'm only on episode 4 so please, no spoilers...but is anyone else a fan?

Hope you all have beautiful weekends!

Cheers to AmandaJennieKarliClare, Rebecca, Katie, Natasha, Heather, Farrah, and Tif for hosting today's link-ups!

  2. A Wedding Singer live production?! Yes! That's awesome. I also loved that you girls attempted prank calling - too cute. I think I'm going to have to start Bloodline - I finished FNL this week, so now I'm going through Coach T withdrawals!

  3. Totally loving that pretty Bauble Bar necklace! I used to love statement necklaces too but now I definitely prefer the dainty layered look. I read somewhere that a Parisian can always pick an American out by their big chunky jewelry and I think that made me want to try that dainty layers haha! Happy Friday!

  7. I was just browsing Baublebar and Kate Spade for their amazing dainty jewelry pieces. Statement necklaces are great but I'm all about the dainty and feminine. Also I really think I need to come see one of your performances one of these days. They always look so spectacular!
And that peeps martini thing? Definitely calling my name!

  8. Your play looks so awesome! What a fun choice, too! The Wedding Singer is my fave! I love that Baublebar necklace also! I was going to text you earlier in the week that they were having a big sample sale but I wound up deciding not to go. I have so much jewelry that I couldn't justify buying any more. We need to get together VERY SOON though!

  18. Well I am heading on over to check out that Flaming Peeptini right about now! And I JUST started watching Friday Night Lights last week on Netflix. I. Am. So. Hooked. As a born and raised Arkansan, I love the Southern aspects and the setting to the whole series. Plus, I have been craving football so bad.

I haven't heard of Bloodline, but I'm definitely checking it out now. Sounds like a show I'd be interested in. (And I am seriously missing Friday Night Lights, so a Coach Taylor fix would be perfect!)
