I'm in a fantastic mood today because not only is the weekend starting, but I have some big, exciting news to share with all of you...
This Manhattan gal is packing up her bags in just a few short weeks! Luckily, I'm not going too far - I'll be leaving the Upper West Side studio that has been my home for the past four years to move to a much larger apartment in Astoria, Queens. Best of all, T and I are moving in together! It's hard to leave a place that I've loved so much and created so many wonderful memories in, but I'm ready for this next step and the new adventures that will come along with it.
One of the perks of moving to a bigger place is getting to do some serious shopping and decorating! Since T and I area both moving from smaller apartments, we are on the hunt for a bunch of new furniture pieces to fill our new home, and we are practically swimming in paint samples. It's pretty exciting to mesh our personal styles together to make our new home reflect both of us. If anyone has any advice on where to find beautiful, affordable furniture, please let me know!
Tony Awards Viewing Party
Despite moving taking over my life, I did manage to squeeze in a few non-moving related activities this week. My friends Emma and Mike hosted a Tony Awards viewing party and it was super fun to be able to watch all of the Broadway festivities with my fellow theater nerds. Our hosts outdid themselves by matching each plate to a nominated show (see An American in Paris Baguette & Brie, above!) and as usual, there are now sooooo many more Broadway shows I want to see!
Art by Friends Paint Night
Also, M and I got together for a midweek gals outing! We attended an event hosted by Art by Friends NYC and got our paint on - M opted for the classic technique, while I went for the (much easier) drip technique. Has anyone else ever gone to a paint night before? We'll be posting a full review soon, so stay tuned!
