August Monthly Cocktail Link Up + Watermelon Shandy Recipe

Happy Cocktail Party Day Gals! Since August is the last (un)official month of the summer we wanted to craft up the ultimate hot weather cocktail that's not only super refreshing, but also so easy to mix together. Today we're mixing up a delicious Watermelon Shandy.

What's better than a cold beer on a hot summers day? While a shandy is typically made with lemon, we decided to put our own spin on it since we kind of have a thing for watermelon cocktails.

The best part about this one is that it's literally only two ingredients - fresh watermelon juice and beer!

Who wants to be slaving in the kitchen, messing with complicated recipes and endless ingredients!? Not these gals - we're all about soaking up as much fun in the sun as we can!

We opted to make ours with Dogfish Head's Namaste, but feel free to use any beer you have on hand!

As for the watermelon, we just defrosted a couple cubes from the freezer, but you can also just slice a couple of fresh slices and puree in the blender for easy and delicious watermelon juice!

Cheers Gals!

Now it's your turn! Join the party and link-up your favorite cocktail recipe - old or new! As always, we're not sticklers here, so feel free to take a little creative license - wine, beer, mocktails, glassware.. we love it all!

  7. Sounds delicious! This drink also sounds like it would not be as a regular shandy. Thank you for sharing ladies and I hope that you have a great day! :-)

  10. Beer makes me sick so I would make this something other than a shandy. BTW It has nothing to do with the gluten but with the specific yeast in beer. Guys, I don't want to get into it but it's better for the world around me and me if I can't even take a sip. Literally. TMI LOL?
