Pretzel Turtles + GIVEAWAY!

It's officially Christmas season, which means that it's time to indulge in all sorts of yummy holiday snacks. T's mother recently forwarded me a recipe for pretzel turtles and I've been seeing different versions of them all over Pinterest, so I knew that this had to be my first culinary adventure of the season. I'm pleased to report that these are incredibly simple to make, and they yield a big batch of treats that would be perfect for holiday gift-giving. They would be so cute in a festive Christmas tin! If you decide to keep some for yourself, they are small enough to be a perfectly portioned snack (though their deliciousness may interfere with your attempts at portion control...don't say I didn't warn you).

Pretzel Turtles

Ingredients
* Pretzels (any shape you prefer)
* Rolos
* Pecan halves

Instructions
* Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

* Line a baking sheet with wax paper and lay the pretzels out evenly.

* Place a Rolo candy on top of each pretzel.

* Place the baking sheet in the oven for 3 minutes. When you remove them, the Rolos should be shiny and soft but NOT melted.

* Carefully place a pecan on top of each chocolate (be careful not to press too hard, or else the caramel may spill onto the sheet).

* Cool them at room temperature, then store in the fridge in an airtight container. Remove about an hour before eating so they return to room temperature...enjoy!

And while you're here, check out this second sweet treat...to help Christina at Christina Lea Loves celebrate her second blogiversary, we've teamed up with some fabulous gals for an exciting giveaway. We're giving away a bunch of Lilly Pulitzer goodies (including a $60 gift card, wine tote, wine coaster and set of two stemless wine glasses). The giveaway will run through next Monday, December 7th. Enter via the rafflecopter below and remember, every link is one entry closer to winning! Lots of luck!

  3. These sound so good! I attempted to make a chocolate and caramel pretzel thing and melting the caramel was such a disaster, I feel like using a rolo would have been so much easier to get the same effect!
